Ayurveda offers a profound understanding of each person’s unique body, mind and consciousness, which is the foundation of health and happiness.
The dosha of Kapha is an alliance of water and earth elements.
A kapha type moves like a swan -slow, stately, elegant and taking their time.
Kaphas are the most challenging by getting started. The kapha energy must be moved and constanly prodded.
Balanced kapha types are compassionate, calm and stable. Imbalanced kapha types get depressed, greedy, lazy, overeat and have a tendency to diseases like colds, asthma and water retention.
Kaphas benefit from practicing yoga poses with effort and speed. We want to keep the water and earth from separating, by stirring the mixture constantly.
-standing and heat producing poses to increase and deepen the breathing and heart rate
Virabhadrasana 1,

Bakasana,

Kaphas are experts on relaxing and do well with only 5 minutes in Savasana!
