The colours of yoga

Words fail to convey the total value of yoga. It has to be experienced.
-B.K.S. Iyengar

Yesterday morning I met my Teacher Training
yoginis to practice yoga together. Even though we all have had the same yoga education we have our own uniqe way of teaching. Excellent! The teacher training didn´t make us in the same mould. Yoga picks out the best colours in each and every one of us.

I myself know what I want to teach and how. To fulfill that goal I really need to work on my japanese or get a translator. The world's 2nd leading language is not that well understod among the japanese people. Of course a student may copy the teacher's pose, but the benefit of especially pranayama and meditation may get the wrong content. Yoga is so much more than doing different poses.

Today I started reading some new yoga books that the postman brought home.

A couple of weeks ago my Sivananda teacher, Noriko, lent me The Complete Illustrated Book Of Yoga (Swami Vishnu-devananda). The book is so interesting that I decided to get my own copy.

During last week's Ayurveda workshop my teacher, Jodi Boone, recommended me: Yoga as medicine (Timothy McCall) and Ayurveda; the science of self-healing (Dr. Vasant Lad). Now I have several enjoyable reading hours ahead of me.
