Deodorant

It is not what you look at that matters,
it´s what you see.
-Henry David Thoreau

Sweating is necessary to regulate the body temperature. Sweat keeps the skin soft, maintains the flora of the pores of the skin and also maintains skin elasticity and tone. Sweating leads the doshas to fluidity, making it easier for it to flow out of the system. It opens up the pores and rid the body of impurities through the sweat glands.

Excessive sweating is a disorder that can create fungal infection and reduces the natural resistance of the skin. Insufficient sweating will also reduce the resistance of the skin and it will cause the skin to become rough and scaly, creating dandruff.

An imbalance of Pitta makes the sweat sour causing body odor. The first aid is using a deodorant.

Here is one deodorant you can make in your own kitchen:

mixing baking soda with corn starch. The corn starch actually works as a light antiperspirant, and the baking soda deodorizes.

1. mix 1 part baking soda with 6 parts corn starch

2. c
lose the container and thoroughly mix the two powders

3.
dab a small amount to the skin of your armpits with a soft cotton cloth

I use this "ayurvedic-home-made"-deodorant because I belong to a higher risk group of breast cancer and:

1. Aluminum
is a neurotoxin and is found in most antiperspirants. It has been linked to Alzheimer’s Disease, respiratory illnesses, reduced renal function, and DNA damage.

2. The
parabens in many antiperspirants may be linked to breast cancer

  3. Den översta bilden är tagen vid ett köpcenter byggt på 70-talet. Vid utescenen har de inslag av många vackra detaljer såsom "profilfigurerna".

    Delad glädje är dubbel glädje!
