Pitta frog

Holding on to anger
is like grasping a hot coal
with the intent of throwing it at someone;
you are the one who gets burned.

-The Buddha

Ayurveda works to bring your dosha, life energy, in harmony so that you can enjoy perfect health.

The PITTA dosha is made up of the elements water and fire.
Too much fire will result in the dry out of the water and too much water will result in the put out of fire.

Pittas move like a frog -jumping up until they reach their goal. People with imbalanced Pitta dosha tend to get overheated, angry, develop ulcers and rashes.

A Pitta type finds balance from staying calm and cool which makes them passionate, warmhearted and intelligent.

With the right yoga poses we can remove the Pitta heat and balance the fire and water in our bodies.

-hip openers to cool and calm down

-Trikonasana is an excellent pose to relieve Pitta diseases like IBS, ulcers, heartburns and to detox the liver

-backbends to open the chest

-Setu Bandha Sarvangasana calms the PITTA brain, stimulates the thyroid, improves digestion

-twisting poses like Prasarita Padottanasana to stimulate the liver, spleen and small intestines and strengthens the gastric fire.

And if you feel more irritable or even angry after the end of an yoga class...

you have pushed too hard. The PITTA frog will do fine even if (s)he pushes 75 %.
